We’ve been recently hearing about a new Nokia smartphone dubbed Nokia XR20. The device has made multiple appearances on the internet since early last month, including certification and benchmark listings as well as retail listings. The handset is seemingly nearing its launch as it continues to pick up necessary certifications thick and fast. Most recently, the Nokia XR20 has received the Wi-Fi Alliance certification with the model number TA-1362.
As usual, the entry on the Wi-Fi Alliance website reveals the device’s Wi-Fi specifications and the operating system. The Nokia XR20 expectedly supports dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi and runs Android 11 out of the box.
The latest listing doesn’t reveal anything else about the upcoming Nokia smartphone. However, we already know a lot about it, thanks to earlier leaks, rumors, and certification listings.
Nokia XR20 rumored specs
Early last month, the Nokia XR20 popped up on benchmarking platform Geekbench with 4GB of RAM and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 chipset, suggesting that it’s an entry-level 5G smartphone. That was followed by a retail listing on a Russian website, which bared it all as far as its specs are concerned.
The device will sport a 6.67-inch display with a Full HD+ resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels). There’s also seemingly a 6GB RAM variant, with Nokia pairing it with 128GB of storage capacity. The 4GB RAM variant might come with 64GB onboard storage, which can be expanded by up to 512GB via a micro SD card.
On the back of the Nokia XR20 is a dual-camera setup consisting of a 48-megapixel primary shooter. The purpose of the 13-megapixel secondary lens isn’t clear, though it’s likely an ultrawide camera. For selfies and video calls, you’ll get an 8-megapixel camera on the front.
The whole setup is fueled by a 4630 mAh battery. It’s unclear what fast charging speeds Nokia will offer with this phone. Don’t be hopeful of anything over 15-18W though.
Other notable specs and features include a fingerprint sensor, face unlocking, a USB Type-C port, GPS and NFC support, Bluetooth 5.1, and dual-SIM support. The device has a dimension of 164.9 x 76 x 9.2 mm and weighs 197 grams. The handset will reportedly be available in at least grey and blue color variants when it goes on sale.
It’s unclear when HMD Global, the finish licensee of the Nokia mobile brand, plans to launch the Nokia XR20. But considering all the recent developments, an official announcement could be just around the corner. We will keep you updated as and when more information emerges.
