HBO MAX Expands To 39 New Countries & Territories

HBO MAX announced today that it is now available in 39 new countries and territories across Latin America and the Caribbean. It did not specify which countries and territories it expanded to, in this press release. But it sounds like the majority of those in Latin America and the Caribbean will be able to subscribe to HBO MAX now.

To celebrate this expansion, HBO MAX is offering a pretty sick discount for new subscribers in these countries and territories. If you sign up between now and July 31, you can get a 50% discount on the monthly rate. And that discount will continue as long as you stay subscribed to HBO MAX.

That’s not something we typically see. Typically these discounts are good for a year, or a fixed time. Not for as long as you stick with HBO MAX. So that’s definitely something you’ll want to jump on.

HBO MAX offers two plans in Latin America and the Caribbean

The two plans sound the same as what is available in the US, but by different names.

There’s the Standard plan, which allows for 3 simultaneous streams, 5 personalized profiles, content downloads, as well as videos being in high-definition with some in HD and 4K.

Then there is the Mobile plan. Which offers the same content catalog, however it is designed for individual experience. You still get content downloads (though it’s limited to 5 titles versus 30 on the Standard plan), and you get standard-definition videos on compatible smartphones and tablets.

Streaming on smartphones and tablets is very popular in these countries, so offering a mobile-oriented plan makes sense for HBO MAX. What’s interesting is that neither plan includes ads. Which is what HBO MAX did in the US. So at least there’s that for HBO MAX in Latin America.
