MediaTek processor are becoming more popular by the minute. Vast majority of Chinese manufacturers use MediaTek’s chipsets and the ones abroad have also started doing the same. Qualcomm is still the king of course and that won’t change any time soon I believe. MediaTek does however produce really solid processors and makes them extremely affordable, which suits brands which are trying to keep the cost down. MediaTek, of course, has tons of processors, some of them are really weak when ti comes to performance, but MT6595 and the 64-bit MT6795 are a completely different story however. MT6595 is a true octa-core processor which Meizu implemented in their MX4 flagship (32-bit chip, just to be clear), this chip offers really great performance and tore up the benchmarks. MT6795 is company’s new 64-bit true octa-core chip which supports speeds up to 2.2GHz and MediaTek expects this chip to be used a lot in the future and to help the company grow even further.
That being said, MT6752 is yet another new 64-bit octa-core chip by this company. This processor deploys eight 2.0GHz ARM Cortex-53 CPUs and a Mali-T760 GPU. It seems like WA phone will be the first smartphone to deploy this chip. This device is expected to launch early next year for a rather affordable price. This device is expected to feature a 5.5-inch 1080p display and according to the pictures it will look really good and be quite slim. We really don’t know what specifications will it offer though, but the rumors say it could sport 2 or 3GB of RAM, 2600mAh battery, metal build and a 14-megapixel main camera. LTE support is also expected and it seems like the price will be really affordable as well.
Meizu MX4, UMi Zero, IUNI U3, Zopo Z999… and now this mysterious WA smartphone. All of these devices come from China, are (or will be) really affordable and sport (or will sport) really great specifications and build quality. Chinese consumers really do have lots of options over there and I hope that many devices like these ones will become available outside of Asia.
