It really seems like China has an endless amount of manufacturers sometimes. We’ve heard of a ton of manufacturers which are based in that Asian country, but day after day we hear of either some new ones or some which we haven’t heard of for a long time. Teclast is a Chinese manufacturer which is rather unknown outside of China. This company has released a new tablet which has a rather interesting screen ratio, let’s check it out.
The name of this device is Teclast P80 and it comes with a 16:10 screen ratio, compared to 16:9 and 4:3 screen ratios which are way more common, it’s really rare to see 16:10 screen ratio on a smartphone / tablet. Anyhow, this device comes sporting an 8-inch 1280 x 800 display along with 1GB of RAM for your multitasking needs and 16GB of in-built storage which you can expand via MicroSD card if you wish to do so. This thing is powered by MediaTek’s MT8382 quad-core processor which is clocked at 1.3GHz and comes with Mali-400 GPU for graphics rendering. This device supports WCDMA 3G networks, which means you can place your SIM card in this thing and use your mobile network on it or even use it as a phone if you choose to do so. On the back of this device, you’ll find a 3-megapixel camera while there’s a 2-megapixel shooter up front. Android 4.4 KitKat comes pre-installed on this device and of course get the usual array of sensors with it as well. Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi are all included, of course. This tablet is only 8.9mm thick and the bezels on the front are just 5mm wide which makes the device look rather good considering its price.
Talking about its price, the tablet will go on sale in China tomorrow and will cost only 499 Yuan ($81) which is extremely affordable if you think about it. This device is far from being top of the line, it belong in low-mid range category but you can’t expect more at that price point, now can you.
