Affordable Moto G Stylus 5G Will Now Be At AT&T And Cricket

AT&T and Cricket Wireless will both be carrying Motorola’s Moto G Stylus 5G, the companies have announced.

The two carriers will offer different pricing, with AT&T customers paying just a bit more for the handset. In either case, this is going to be the same device Motorola announced in early June. But the carriers will also be selling the gadget at a significant discount. Effectively making this the most affordable 5G handset on the market. At least for the US’s top mobile provider and its MVNO.

Both companies will be also participating with Motorola in a joint unboxing in just a few hours’ time, in the lead-up to their launch on the carriers.

What is the Moto G Stylus 5G?

Key features of the Moto G Stylus 5G — at AT&T, Cricket, or otherwise — include its branding-implied networking and a 6.8-inch FHD+ Max Vision display. But a big screen and 5G aren’t the only headlining features.

Motorola also built the Moto G Stylus 5G with a quad-pixel quad-camera array. That’s led by a 48-megapixel primary sensor, backed by an ultra-wide, macro, and depth sensor. There’s a 16-megapixel camera at the front for selfies.

Continuing along the hardware front, Bluetooth 5.0, a 3.5mm audio combo jack, USB-C for the fast-charging 5,000mAh battery, and a mid-range-ready octa-core SoC are also a part of the build. The latter component is backed by 6GB RAM and 256GB of expandable storage. And, of course, this handset comes with a frame-docked stylus for creative and productive pursuits.

Pricing and availability

As noted above, Cricket Wireless customers will pay a bit less for the new gadgets. Neither company necessarily has the device up on their respective sites, as of this writing. But the MVNO will only be charging $99.99 for new customers and $149.99 for existing customers. That’s both online or in Cricket stores and sales of the device will start on July 9.

For AT&T, new and existing customers can pick up the handset starting July 19. And, for a limited time, AT&T says pricing will start as low as $5 per month via a 36-month installment plan or $180 total. And that’s with an AT&T unlimited data plan. The handset will be sold online and in stores.

In both cases, that’s a significant discount from the device’s launch price of around $400 at launch.
