With almost everybody working from home or staying home to avoid getting COVID-19, video calls have become an important part of our digital life. And taking things forward in this direction, Telegram is now adding a group video calls feature with the latest update.
Not only this but the latest Telegram update also brings animated backgrounds to add that extra fun while video calling. With the surge in usage of video calls, a host of new players emerged during the course of the past year.
Whereas, old players are constantly updating and adding new features related to video calling. Besides, the apps that stayed away from video calls, even those are adding video-chat support.
Telegram showcased this new group video calls feature with the beta version of the app earlier this month. Now, finally, after a good amount of testing, the feature is making its way to the stable version of the app.
Notably, a bunch of new features, including this group video calls and animated backgrounds features are arriving with the Telegram app version 7.8.
According to Android Police, if you use Telegram for video calls, then you can start a video broadcast or video share, right from your screen.

In order to broadcast or share video calls, all you need to do is tap the 3-dot or overflow menu while in a group. Here, you will find the options to either screen share or start recording.
However, do note that only the first 30 users will be able to do these features for video. The rest will be stuck on audio, sadly. This is something we expect would be changed in the coming updates.
For users who like screen sharing, you can either choose to share your entire screen or share your screen along with your feed. So, there are both options.
Gradient backgrounds are also making their way to the app. These will change colors as you send messages. You can find this feature by heading to appearance settings and tapping the background menu.
Additionally, Telegram has also brought new menus for interacting with bots. Further, there is a new bot just to help you with the process of importing your stickers.
Some new animated emojis and send-messages effects are also coming to Telegram with the latest Telegram 7.8 update. If you want to try out all these new features, then you can grab the latest version from Google Play Store.
