Google Play Pass Expands To More Countries, Adds Several New Games

Google Play Pass

If you’ve been waiting for Google Play Pass to arrive in your country, there’s a good chance it has now. Google’s subscription service for Android games and apps is now available in 90 countries and territories around the world.

When Google launched Play Pass in September 2019, it was limited to the US only. Over time, the company has expanded the service to several other markets. As of March 31, 2021, it had reached 42 countries or regions around the world. So Play Pass has expanded to 48 additional markets over the past couple of months. That’s an impressive feat by Google.

Some of the newly added countries include Azerbaijan, Costa Rica, Fiji, Mali, Paraguay, South Africa, Ukraine, and Uruguay. We’d put up the full list here but it is too long. You can see if Google Play Pass is available in your country by clicking here.

Google Play Pass also adds over 40 new games

Google Play Pass arrived with a catalog of around 350 Android apps and games in September 2019. The subscription service has since picked up several new titles. As of the last update by the company on March 31, 2021, it was 800 titles strong. Now, over the past couple of months, Google has added another 42 games to its roster.

The latest addition includes plenty of puzzle and adventure games as well as some action, sports, roleplay, strategy, educational, racing, simulation, and board games. You can find the full list of newly added games to Google Play Pass here.

Google launched Play Pass just days after Apple announced a similar subscription service for iOS games and apps, called Apple Arcade. The subscription service gives you ad-free access to its full catalog of Android apps and games for a monthly fee of $4.99. Google also introduced a $29.99 yearly plan to Play Pass in July last year. While a monthly Apple Arcade subscription costs the same $4.99, its yearly plan is significantly costlier at $49.99.

However, if you’re a Verizon customer, you can get Google Play Pass or Apple Arcade for free with an Unlimited plan, which starts at $35 per month. If you’re already on an Unlimited plan, you can add these gaming services to your account at no additional cost.

It is not a life-long offer though. You’ll get a free subscription to these services for up to 12 months only. Thereafter, you’ll have to pay an additional $4.99 per month if you want to continue using any of the services or opt for the yearly plan.
