The Galaxy M52 5G is Samsung‘s next Galaxy M series mid-range smartphone. The upcoming device appeared on Geekbench earlier this week with the Snapdragon 778G processor, 6GB RAM, and Android 11-based software. Now, more details about the phone have surfaced online.
Samsung-focused Dutch publication Galaxy Club has got hold of the camera specs for the Galaxy M52 5G. According to the new report, the device will feature a quad-camera setup at the back with a 64-megapixel primary shooter. It is reportedly the ISOCELL GW3 sensor that can be found in many other recent Samsung mid-rangers. A 12-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 5-megapixel macro camera will accompany the main camera at the back.
Spec details of the fourth sensor are not known but we might be looking at another 5-megapixel camera for depth sensing. For selfies and video calls, the device gets a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.
Galaxy M52 camera specs leaked and there’s nothing new to look forward to
Now, if these camera specs sound very familiar to you, that’s probably because Samsung has launched several mid-range smartphones so far this year and those devices have switched between a handful of camera sensors. However, in this particular case, the company is seemingly taking the whole camera setup from the Galaxy A52 or the Galaxy M51 and putting it inside the upcoming Galaxy M52 5G.
This move shouldn’t come as a surprise though. The Korean firm has done so multiple times in the past. It takes a popular Galaxy A series phone, makes a few minor changes here and there, and launches it as a new phone in the Galaxy M series. And by the looks of it, the Galaxy M52 5G will not differ much from the Galaxy A52 in terms of specs. It may not keep the latter’s design though.
That said, we are still waiting for details about other Galaxy M52 5G specs. So there’s plenty of scope for Samsung to change things. The device has huge shoes to fill in as it will arrive as the successor to last year’s Galaxy M51. The previous model packed a massive 7,000mAh battery. It would be a shame if the new model doesn’t retain that. Hopefully, it will.
As for pricing, the Galaxy M51 debuted at around €360 (approx. $430) last year. The Galaxy M52 5G, meanwhile, might come a bit expensive since it packs a more powerful chipset and brings 5G connectivity. You can expect to hear more about the upcoming Galaxy mid-ranger in the coming weeks.
