Sony has detailed pricing and release dates for all four handsets (see below). Pre-orders for the Xperia X are available now across a number of retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, B&H Photo Video and Reagan Wireless. The Xperia X will cost $550 including a free 128GB micro SD card and will launch on 26 June 2016. It is worth noting though that we are hearing the fingerprint sensor will be removed from the US Xperia X models, much like we saw last year with the Xperia Z5.
Pre-orders for the other three handsets will begin on 19 June 2016. The Xperia X Performance will cost $700, with the Xperia XA Ultra costing $370 and the entry-level Xperia XA costing $280. If you pre-order the Xperia X and X Performance, Sony will also throw in a UCH10 Quick Charger free of charge.
So, US readers, what do you think of these prices? Are you glad to see an official release in timely fashion? Could this mark a turning point for the Xperia brand in the US, at least in respect of greater transparency in terms of release dates and pricing? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
