HTC has been trying to get back to the right path for quite some time now. This Taiwan-based company has been having issues as far as smartphone sales go for quite some time now. Their finances don’t exactly look great, and we’re talking about a company which was third-placed smartphone OEM back in the day. HTC has introduced the One A9 and One X9 handsets in the last couple of months, but everyone is waiting for them to announced their all-new flagship, the One M10.
We’ve seen quite a few rumors and leaks regarding the One M10 thus far, and the latest one more or less confirms its naming scheme. The ‘One M10’ naming popped up in the HTML code which was taken from HTC’s website, as you can see in the screenshots down below. That’s not the only thing that leaked though, the alleged photo sample from the One M10 has surfaced as well. This sample actually comes with EXIF data, which reveals that the camera will sport an f/1.9 aperture. Now, this is a significant improvement compared to its predecessor, at least as far as aperture goes. The One M9 has a 21-megapixel snapper on the back, but as we’ve learned already, megapixels aren’t everything, not even close. That 21-megapixel shooter actually sports an f/2.2 aperture, so it seems like HTC will go with the trend and cut down on megapixels in order to improve the overall quality of the image. Speaking of megapixels, the resolution of the sample image is actually 2250 x 4000 pixels, which comes down to 9-megapixel in a 16:9 ratio format. This suggests that the sensor might be a 12-megapixel one (4:3 ratio), if not bigger.
Now, HTC has teased part of One M10’s design already, it seems like the phone will sport chamfered edges. The alleged One M10 has leaked both in White and Black color options, and three different internal storage variants have been rumored recently as well. This handset will almost certainly going to be made out of metal, and it seems like the physical home button will be present below the display as well. The fingerprint scanner will almost certainly going to be a part of this package, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on the device, along with HTC’s Sense UI on top of it.
