How to Get to LEGOLAND Malaysia and Sanrio Hello Kitty Town Using Public Transport

Taking public transport to the theme parks of Nusajaya, Johor is easier than you think.

Compiled by Abby Yao

It’s convenient to get to LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort and Sanrio Hello Kitty Town & Thomas Town from Johor Bahru, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, even without driving there yourself. Aside from local bus services between the two theme parks, there are also coach services from Singapore and Kuala Lumpur that make it possible to do a day trip to LEGOLAND Malaysia and Hello Kitty Town. While it is possible to visit both parks, we recommend at least an overnight stay.

FROM JOHOR BAHRU

  1. Aside from taxis, which are available from Johor Bahru to LEGOLAND and Hello Kitty Town & Thomas Town (also known as Puteri Harbour Family Theme Park), the JPO2 bus plies the route between Senai Airport, LEGOLAND and Hello Kitty Town, passing by Johor Premium Outlets, where you can shop for off-season discounted branded items. Note that the JPO2 bus has only four daily trips per way.
  1. In addition, the SL1 bus runs on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays in Malaysia and Singapore, departing from Terminal TUTA in JB and stopping at various shopping centres before LEGOLAND and Hello Kitty Town. This service is more frequent, with trips every 1 to 1.5 hours.

Refer to local bus schedules at the bottom of the page.

FROM SINGAPORE

There are a few entry points from Singapore into Johor and to the theme parks:

  1. WTS Travel operates a coach service four times daily to LEGOLAND Malaysia and Sanrio Hello Kitty Town from Singapore Flyer and twice daily from BigBox Jurong East.
  1. An alternative is to take buses CW3, CW4 or CW6 to CIQ 2nd Link. From there, the JPO2 bus will quickly bring you to LEGOLAND and Hello Kitty Town. On Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays in Malaysia and Singapore, the SL1 bus also operates from CIQ 2nd Link to LEGOLAND and Hello Kitty Town.
  1. Another option is to get on the CW1, CW2 and CW5 to JB Sentral. From there, change to the LM1 bus stops at Hello Kitty Town and LEGOLAND, passing by Larkin Sentral.

For 2 and 3, refer to local bus schedules at the bottom of the page.

FROM KUALA LUMPUR

There are various ways to get from Kuala Lumpur to LEGOLAND and Hello Kitty Town, in addition to flying to Senai Airport. By far the most direct method by land is Causeway Link’s daily service from The Royale Bintang Hotel in Bukit Bintang to LEGOLAND and Hello Kitty Town, which departs at 7:00am and arrives before noon. Note that the return journey is at 6:30pm. The bus makes one rest stop en route. One-way fare is RM57, available online, at Causeway Link outlets and from the driver. Be at the meeting point 30 minutes before the scheduled departure.

TIPS

  • The LEGOLAND bus stop is at the entrance of the parking lot. Although the walk is covered, it feels long because there is nothing to see along the way. Alight at the Mall of Medini when possible, as there are shops and restaurants all the way to the LEGOLAND entrance – plenty of sights to keep you and the kids occupied.
  • The bus fare between the two parks is less than RM2 and the trip takes 10 minutes. Bring loose change as the driver does not carry change.
  • Look out for discounted theme park tickets and packages from the coach operators.
