Pink Xperia Z5 arriving in January

Sony Mobile plans to launch a Pink Sony Xperia Z5 in late January according to reports in the Taiwanese media. The new Pink Xperia Z5 is said to be an exclusive to Chunghwa Telecom in Taiwan, but there’s a good chance we could see this appear in other regions too. The new Pink Xperia Z5 will arrive just in time for Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day.

This is not the first time that Sony has looked to stimulate sales of its flagship by introducing a new colour. We saw the same thing happen last year, when Sony introduced a new Purple Xperia Z3 in late January 2015. It launched across Asia (Hong Kong and Taiwan) as well as the UK. Therefore, the timing appears to be almost identical for a new coloured flagship launch. It also may indicate that Sony has no new flagship models to talk about at CES, hence the new coloured Xperia Z5.

Sony has produced a number of previous smartphones in pink including the Xperia P and Z1 Compact. More recently, it launched ‘coral’ versions of the Xperia Z5 Compact and the Xperia M4 Aqua.
