DROID Turbo 2 Case Leak Seems To Confirm Phone Design

Verizon’s event comes up in just short of a couple of weeks where they’re expected to show off two new phones for their lineup, thought to be the DROID Maxx 2 and DROID Turbo 2. Although the October 29th launch date hasn’t been confirmed, the chances are high that Verizon will show off the phone at their event on the 27th. Official images of the phone haven’t surfaced just yet but there have been some leaks which seem to show off what the design of Motorola’s DROID Turbo successor is like, and some recently leaked images from today for DROID Turbo 2 accessories seem to match up with the leaked images from last month.

This kind of thing tends to happen with major phones before a launch, and while the accessories may be fit based on what retailer Qmadix thinks the phone will be like, it’s quite possible this is the final design of the DROID Turbo 2 due to previous leaks. The images of the cases show off details like the rear camera placement in the middle of the back of the phone, something which Motorola has kept as a sort of theme for most of their recent devices, and details on the front like the front speaker, cameras and sensors in the corners of the display.

Qmadix’ website shows that the accessories will be available for purchase soon, which suggests that the possible launch of the phone sometime in the next couple weeks may actually be a reality. If you consider the timing of the launch for the previous model DROID Turbo in 2014, the launch may very well likely happen before the end of the month, although the cost and the official hardware specifications are still unknown. Rumored specs consist of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, a 20MP rear facing camera and a 5.5-inch QHD display. Motorola used the QHD display on last year’s model so this wouldn’t be too much of a shock. It’s also being stated that instead of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Motorola and Verizon have opted to use Android 5.1.1 Lollipop instead during the phone’s launch period. If that’s the case, whether or not the Marshmallow update will make its way to the DROID Turbo 2 quickly is unclear.
