Moto X Force (aka DROID Turbo 2, aka Bounce) could cost $630

We’re hearing more and more about the Moto X Force as we inch closer to release date. If you don’t remember, the device was originally discovered as the Motorola Bounce, which was revealed to be the internal codename for Verizon’s DROID Turbo 2. Moto X Force is the name it might don should it find its way to Europe.

Early details about the phone suggest it’ll be top of the line for Motorola’s 2015 lineup. This is largely thanks to a Snapdragon 810 chipset, Quad HD resolution, 3GB of RAM and a ridiculous 3,760mAh battery. That display is going to be nearly indestructible, by the way, and Motorola will make it a main marketing point for the device.

We also learned that the device will have a front-facing flash and wireless charging. And now there’s an early idea of how much it’ll all cost: 4,000 Chinese yuan, which translates to roughly $630. Motorola is sure to place a price tag specific to whichever markets it lands in, but it’s nice to get an idea of how much they value this thing. We wouldn’t be surprised to see it hit Verizon’s store shelves sitting in the $599.99 to $649.99 range, for instance.

That’s a far leap from the original Moto X Style / Moto X Pure Edition’s starting price tag of $399.99, though that’s because those devices will be sold straight to consumers. The Moto X Force / Bounce / DROID Turbo 2 is going through traditional carrier sales channels, so expect traditional carrier pricing. Would you hold out for this beast of a phone or potentially save $200 by going with the lesser Moto X? Let us know!
