Huawei has been one of the most active smartphone OEMs this year. This China-based company has been releasing devices left and right, and most of them are quite compelling. The company has introduced three devices as part of their flagship P8 line, MediaPad M2 premium tablet, Honor 7 and 7i smartphones, the Android Wear-based Huawei Watch, etc. That being said, IFA is right around the corner, and Huawei has already scheduled their press conference in Berlin. The company will unveil the new ‘Mate’ phablet, quite probably the Mate S, and their Android Wear-based smartwatch will also (finally) going to be released.
Speaking of the Mate S, we’ve already seen a number of leaks regarding this phablet in the last couple of weeks, and a new one landed earlier today. The Huawei Mate S was showed off in a couple of real life images, and now a new set of renders appears as well. If you take a look at the provided image, you’ll get to see the upcoming Mate S phablet in a number of color options, Black, White, Champagne and Silver. This is the same device that leaked earlier today, and a number of times over the last couple of weeks, so chances are this is the final design of Huawei’s Mate S phablet.
What about its specs? Well, according to previous leaks, the Huawei Mate S will feature a 5.7-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) Force Touch display, along with 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM, and a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. The phablet will be powered by Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 935 64-bit octa-core SoC, and a 20-megapixel camera will be available on its back. The 8-megapixel snapper will be located on the front side of this device, and a 2.5D curved glass will be placed on top of the aforementioned display. The Mate S will be made out of metal, and it will almost certainly launch on September 2nd during IFA, considering that’s when Huawei scheduled their press conference. The company will also release their Android Wear-powered smartwatch, the Huawei Watch, at the press conference. The announcement is taking place tomorrow, so stay tuned for more details.
