The HTC One M9 is Now Available on WIND Mobile

AH HTC One M9 2015 Chris --15WIND Mobile is the like the little engine that could…one of the smaller, albeit the fourth largest, carriers that may have a chance to grow to compete with the Big Three if they merge with another carrier.  Late last year, WIND signed a new roaming agreement with TELUS, so they now can reach out to 97-percent of Canadians.  WIND has been growing its selection of phones and now offers the Nexus 6, Galaxy Note 4, and most recently the new Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.  They just added the new Gunmetal Grey HTC One M9 for $149 with a $25 per month WINDtab Boost plan or $799 outright.  We knew back in March that the HTC One M9 was coming to Canada and in the middle of April, it was available at Rogers, Bell, TELUS, Koodo Mobile and Videotron.  At that time we were told that WIND Mobile would also sell the One M9 the following week, so they were only off by a week in getting the device.

The price on the HTC One M9 on WIND Mobile varies depending what WINDtab Boost plan you sign up for – from a $149 on a $25 per month WINDtab Boost, $349 on a $15 WINDtab Boost, $549 on a $5 per month WINDtab Boost and $649 on WINDtab.  They are lots of specials on their site, so if you are interested in getting a new HTC One M9, check out their website.

The new HTC One M9 keeps the M7 and M8 look alive – all metal wrap around body, beautiful looking and easy to hold…especially since HTC did a slight redesign of the edges to make it easier to grip.  HTC insisted on keeping the Full HD (FHD) display rather than moving up to a Quad HD (QHD) display like rivals Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 Edge and LG G4.  HTC put in a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of memory with a microSD card slot for further expansion.

HTC revamped the camera area by removing the Duo Camera, adding a 20MP main camera (still no OIS) and moving the 4MP UltraPixel camera around to the front – it should give great selfies and video chatting.  The non-removable 2840mAh battery may just about get you through the day and if you need a charge, the Qualcomm processor’s Quick Charge 2.0 feature will give you up to a 60-percent charge in 30 minutes time.
