It seems increasingly likely that Samsung’s latest flagship offerings, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are going to be two of the biggest devices the company has ever released. The early indications suggest sales are going to be very big. Pre-orders had already been noted to be well above what might have been expected prior to the unveiling of the two devices, and since their release, sales seem to be consistently going strong. Of course, Samsung does have a lot invested in the twin S6 devices. Prior to their release, much talk circulated on how Samsung needed a game-changer device to stop what appeared to be slowing sales and profits.

Well, the release of a ‘built from the ground up’ device was only half of the equation. Samsung knows, as well as trying to bring a revamped and refreshed Galaxy S device to the market, they would also need to push the S6 promotional campaign into overdrive. Which in itself is a large undertaking, as Samsung’s promotional campaigns are usually quite large anyway. As such, the last few weeks have seen an unparalleled number of promotional videos for the two devices hitting the internet. Continuing the overall promotional push for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, Samsung is today beginning a three-week “Next is Now” campaign. This will see the release of three videos (May 4th, May 11th and May 18th) highlighting features of the Galaxy S6 in more novel promotional ways. The May 11th video, which is set in Barcelona includes Marco Brambilla and revolves around ‘Video Art’. While the May 18th video, which is set in China features photographer Daniel Lau.

In terms of today’s video, which is entitled “Jetman vs Galaxy S6” and set in Dubai, Yves “Jetman” Rossy takes to the skies and attempts to travel 40 km (in 10 minutes) before the Galaxy S6 can offer fours hours of usage (after a 10-minute charge). It has widely been reported that a 10-minute charge on the S6 is supposed to offer the user 4 hours worth of usage, due to the fast charge technology. Therefore, the race is set to see who is the ‘fastest’. You can check out the race and who wins by clicking play below.
