ReVault Puts Cloud Storage On Your Wrist

If you work a lot online, you probably use cloud storage to back up everything. Which is great, but it can also be frustrating since you need a local copy to get anything done… and have to sync the two in order to make sure your edits are updated… and then there are hackers… wouldn’t it be nice to have your files constantly accessible, wirelessly? That’s the idea behind ReVault, a file storage locker that sits on your wrist.

All In The Wrist

It’s actually pretty simple. The ReVault, which comes in 32GB and 128GB varieties, sits on your wrist and wirelessly connects with your trusted devices; no worrying about somebody reading your work memos over Bluetooth. It doesn’t need to be a watch, either; hang it off your keychain, or around your neck. Whatever works.

It syncs across all your devices and automatically backs up all your files, so you can pick up work on your phone after finishing up on your laptop. Everything is encrypted, naturally, with AES-256. You can even set the ReVault up for two-factor authentication if you’re feeling particularly security-minded. And in a nice touch, it’s cross-platform; Android, iOS, Mac, Windows, and Linux will all sync up easily and work across platforms.

It’s true that most of us don’t have strong security demands and will mostly be using this to store music and movie files. And the fact that you need a Qi wireless charger may add a cost for some. But the fact that you don’t need to subscribe to a cloud service, and the fact that you don’t need to worry about keeping your files stored, may make this worth the backup. It starts at $199 on IndieGogo.
