User Agent Profile Shows Specs of the Samsung SM-J700

It looks like Samsung might have another Galaxy J smartphone on its way. This time it appears to be the Galaxy J7. The user agent profile shows some vague specs of the device, over on Samsung’s website. We see the SM-J700F and the SM-J700 models. So we’re thinking this is going to be joining the Galaxy J series, currently there’s only the Galaxy J1. It appears we have a 720p display here, which is speculated at about 5.5 inches in size. However, the user agent profile does not show us the size. There’s also no word on which chipset it’s using, but we do know it has a few Cortex-A53 cores as well as a max clock speed of 1.5GHz. That’s pretty much all the user agent profile has shown us this time around.

The J700F is likely for the European market. So we’ll likely see this device head over to Europe once it’s announced. Additionally, the SM-J700 has been placed on Zauba, which is the import/export database for India. Two units of the phone have been imported inside India, likely for R&D purpose. According to Zauba, each unit is valued at about Rs. 15,908, which equals about $255 USD. However, it’s important to remember that this price is generally not suggestive of what the retail price will be once it’s available.

While it does look like we’ll be seeing a SM-J700 or SM-J700F coming out soon from Samsung, it’s important to remember that not all smartphones that we see with User Agent Profiles and on import/export databases actually become official. We’ve seen a number of smartphones from Samsung, HTC, LG, Motorola and many others appear on import/export databases and other leaks, that have never seen the light of day. So don’t take this as confirmation that Samsung is releasing another Galaxy J smartphone, although I could see them doing it. Especially if the Galaxy J1 was successful as a mid-ranger.

Samsung has really cut back on the number of devices they’ve announced this year, with only a handful. Including the Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. A huge difference over last year. But I could definitely see Samsung continuing the Galaxy J series of smartphones.
