We’ve seen a lot of great smartphones released in the last couple of months. Both Samsung and HTC have released their flagships last month, and Xiaomi did the same back in January. LG and Sony are expected to do the same soon, and all in all, this might be a great year for Android. That being said, AnTuTu, a well-known benchmarking service, has released the top 10 performing smartphones of in the first quarter of this year. Anyhow, let’s check out which devices made the list, shall we.
Samsung’s and HTC’s newly-released flagships are positioned at the very top. The Samsung Galaxy S6 scored 67,520 on AnTuTu, and is followed by the Galaxy S6 Edge and HTC One M9 which scored 62,373 and 52,709, respectively. The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are powered by the company’s Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core processor built using the 14nm manufacturing process. The HTC One M9, on the other hand, is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor, and has scored somewhat less than Samsung’s offerings.
Another Samsung device made the top 5, the Galaxy S5 (seems to be the LTE-A Snapdragon 805-powered variant) is placed fourth on this list, this handset has scored 49.355. Meizu’s MX4 handset is very close, this device scored 49,305, and is followed by the Motorola-made Nexus 6 which hit 49.145 on AnTuTu. Moving to the last five smartphones here. On the 7th place is another Samsung-branded device, the Snapdragon 805-powered Galaxy Note 4 which scored 49,140. This handset is followed by Motorola Droid Turbo which sports the same SoC, the Snapdragon 810-powered LG G Flex and the OnePlus one which is powered by the Snapdragon 801. These three handsets have scored 48,695, 48,605 and 47,550 respectively.
There you have it folks, top 10 best-benchmarked smartphones in the first quarter of this year. Keep in mind that benchmark results don’t exactly guarantee great real-life performance, these are just reference numbers, as always. There are some charts in the gallery down below which will provide more information here, if you’d like to check those out. As you can see, Samsung has most devices on this list, and Qualcomm has most processors. There are 4 Samsung-branded devices here, and 7 out 10 devices here are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors.
