The Flex is actually surprisingly simple. You’ve got one base unit, which is the 208cc power plant and the rear wheels. The front can be any of several attachments: Right now, there’s a wide-area lawnmower; a leaf blower that puts out a thousand cubic feet of air per minute; a pressure washer; and a snow thrower. Whenever you need the tool, just click it on and go to town.
Yes, you can basically buy a Transformer and keep it in your garage. Isn’t science wonderful?
Flex Time
That said, if you want the whole package, it’s going to cost you. The base alone will run you $400, and the attachments start at $280 and up. So really if you want the convenience of one power plant running all your devices, it might wind up costing you far more than just getting the pieces individually. But if you need to save space, or just want something that’s fun to play with before doing actual work, the Flex looks to fit the bill.
