Lenovo has announced quite a few smartphones during the Mobile World Congress (MWC), but Lenovo Vibe Shot definitely stole the spotlight during the show. We’ve already covered this device at length, you can check its announcement and hands-on content if you’d like. This China-based tech giant did say that the device will probably be available in June, and the Vibe Shot just paid a visit to TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) and got certified. The version that got certified in China is slightly different than the international version though. Let’s take a look at its specs, shall we.
The certified Lenovo Vibe Shot (Z90-7) features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS LCD display along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card up to 128GB). The Lenovo Vibe Shot isn’t exactly equipped with the most powerful SoC out there, but Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor should give it more than enough power. This processor also ships with an Adreno 405 GPU for graphics. Keep in mind that TENAA listing doesn’t exactly mention the brand of the SoC here, but it does say that we’re talking about an octa-core chip clocked at 1.7, so it seems like we’re talking about the same processor that was included in the international version.
The Camera is the key feature of this device, the Vibe Shot is equipped with a 16-megapixel OIS camera which is flanked by a triple-LED dual tone flash. This camera is allegedly really good and this is the first smartphone that is sporting triple-LED flash, it will be interesting to see how will it perform once the device is available. 8-megapixel snapper is available on the front side of this device and a 2,900 non-removable battery comes built-in here. We’re looking at a dual-SIM device here which offers 4G LTE connectivity (Chinese bands in this case). Android 5.0 Lollipop comes pre-installed here along with Lenovo’s custom UI on top of Google’s operating system. The Lenovo Vibe Shot measures 142.6 x 70 x 7.6mm and weighs 145 grams.
It is also worth mentioning that the Vibe Shot offers the premium build and a unique design, especially if you look at it from the back. This handset will be available in White, Red and Grey color options once it launches. The international version will cost around $349, and we still don’t know if this version will be cheaper because of the lower-res display, stay tuned for that.
