Xiaomi has announced a bunch of devices in 2015 already, including the company’s new flagships, the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro. These two handsets look identical on the outside, but sport fairly different specifications. The Mi Note Pro is the higher-end device here, and is not available just yet. The Mi Note, however, is already available for purchase in China. That being said, Xiaomi’s co-founder and CEO has revealed yesterday that the company intends to launch a “special edition” Mi Note handset today. Well, that just happened, let’s see what Xiaomi announced, shall we.
The aforementioned Xiaomi founder has announced the special edition of the Mi Note, featuring a back cover made of bamboo. Lei Jun has announced this handset via his official Weibo (Chinese social network) account. This handset looks the same as the Mi Note, except the back cover, of course. The handset also sports the same specifications as the Mi Note that was announced back in January. This device will go on sale next Tuesday, but the device can already be pre-ordered in China for 2,299 Yuan ($367). Anyone interested in purchasing this handset?
The Mi Note sports a 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 3GB of RAM for your multitasking needs and 16 or 64GB of non-expandable internal storage (this special edition handset is available in both of these variants). The Mi Note is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor which comes with an Adreno 330 GPU for graphics. 13-megapixel OIS camera is located on the back of this handset, and a 4-megapixel camera (2um pixel size) can be found on the front side of this handset. The Mi Note offers 4G LTE connectivity, and a dual-LED, dual tone flash is also available on the back. 155.1 x 77.6 x 7mm are the measurements of this device, and it weighs 161 grams.
