#Spectre: James Bond Returns In Teaser Trailer, Hints At Some Dark Secrets

007 faces a formidable set of villains in the new movie.

Spectre Teaser Trailer

The long-awaited first teaser trailer for the next James Bond film, “Spectre”, premiered Friday night (Saturday in Malaysia). While the plot remains a mystery, it looks like the storyline could connect with earlier 007 adventures.

First of all, “SPECTRE” (an acronym for “Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge, and Extortion), fans will recall, is the evil organization behind attempts at world domination in classic Bond films like “Thunderball” and “You Only Live Twice”. Also, there’s an inclusion of Mr. White, the bad guy who pulled some strings in “Casino Royale” and after being captured, escaped in “Quantum of Solace” ;)

SPECTRE 007

Hence, the new 007 film will presumably reveal some of SPECTRE’s origins as Bond encounters it for the first time.

According to the official “Spectre” premise:

In the aftermath of the bombing of MI6 by Raoul Silva, a cryptic message sets in motion events that will see James Bond come face-to-face with a sinister organisation known as “SPECTRE”. As Gareth Mallory, the newly-appointed M, continues fighting political pressures that threaten the future of MI6, Bond is drawn into a confrontation with an enemy who knows him better than he knows himself and holds a dangerous secret that will force Bond to question the value of everything he has fought to protect.

Bond will have no choice but to peel back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind “SPECTRE”.

And the plot thickens.

Ralph Fiennes takes over as the new M in the new movie, set for release 6th November, as Bond hunts down a cryptic message from his past to discover the shadowy organization.

Sam Mendes, who helmed “Skyfall”, will direct the film starring Daniel Craig as Bond, Christoph Waltz as Oberhauser, Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, and Andrew Scott as Denbigh.
