Cordcutters rejoice as Sling TV has announced this morning that the official Sling TV app will be available on Xbox One at some point today for those in North America.
The internet live TV streaming service will also add A&E, the History Channel, H2 and Lifetime to the “Best of Live TV” core package by the end of March. The Best of Live TV package already includes ESPN, ABC Family, Food Network, TBS, TNT, the Disney Channel and more.

Sling TV will also add two new add-on packs that are both priced at $5 per month. The first is a “Lifestyle Extra” package that includes TruTV, Cooking Channel, DIY and WE TV, with FYI and LMN coming soon. This means that users will be granted access to March Madness games, as those air on TruTV. The second package is a “World News Extra” pack that includes Bloomberg TV< HLN, Euro News, France 24, NDTV 24/7, News 18 and Russia Today. These new add-on packs replace Sling TV’s “News & Info Extra” pack. However, those that already purchased the “News & Info Extra” pack will receive both of the new packs for a total of $5/month.
This is another big step for Sling TV’s success, and it has to be noted that Sling TV is clearly dedicated to improving the experience of their online live TV streaming service by adding new content. They just recently added AMC to the core package, and a couple movie channels, as well as an EPIX movie add-on package and others that I’m sure I’m forgetting right now. Still, it’s undeniable that they’re dedicated to adding value to picking up a Sling TV subscription, which you can do on their official site.
