Saygus has announced their crowd-funded V2 “superphone” back at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in January. Saygus’ founder, Chad Sayers, even hyped up the phone by saying the following: “The Saygus V2 is the embodiment of what we believe consumers want in a mobile device. Our super smartphone takes the best functionality and usability of current high-end smartphones and adds an unparalleled level of innovation with several features that are unique to the V2.” This handset is available for pre-order since early February, and was supposed to ship out within 6-8 weeks (early April at the latest). That won’t happen though, read on.

Unfortunately for those of you who pre-ordered this thing, its release is postponed until May 22nd. The company has e-mailed the customers who pre-ordered the phone and has apologized for the delay. The company will give out a free SqGI headset for free, as an apology for the delay. This headset is worth around $229, just in case you were wondering. The reason for the delay? Well, the company said that the shipments are delayed “due to imperfect components and an antenna design issue” and “integration of the industry leading cameras”. In case you don’t want to wait for the company to ship this device your way, you can ask for a refund.

The Saygus V2 features a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable internal storage (up to 128GB via microSD card). This handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor which comes with an Adreno 330 GPU for graphics. 3,100 removable battery will ship with this device and wireless charging (Qi standard) is also a part of this package. 21-megapixel camera is available on the back of this device, and a 13-megapixel shooter is located on its front side. The Saygus V2 also has IPX7 certification for water resistance and the device sports a rather unique build, as you can see in the images. You also get a dedicated camera shutter button here. Kevlar, aluminum and lightweight magnesium were all used by the company to build this thing.

There you have it folks, The Saygus V2 shipments are delayed until late March, and you can ask for a refund if you’d like. Let us know if you’re one of the consumers who pre-ordered this handset.
