HTC Vive virtual reality headset introduced through partnership with Valve

Add HTC to the list of companies getting involved in virtual reality because, today, the company introduced its own headset for the masses to see. Through a partnership with Valve, the HTC Vive was made possible. The virtual reality headset combines the design of hardware capable of HTC and the technologies available from Valve’s Steam VR.



Users of the HTC Vive are able to work around and explore their environments due to the inclusion of due to the use of 360° scaling and tracked controllers. The display of the HTC Vive is capable of delivering high-end video and audio. The display can perform at 90fps.


There are wireless virtual reality controllers compatible, but HTC has not revealed anything about them other than saying they “will make you feel one with your virtual environment.”

A platform is only as strong as its content. That is why HTC partnered with content providers and developers such as HBO, Lionsgate, Cloudhead Games, and Google. Expect plenty of unique experience from these companies and more when the HTC Vive launches.


The HTC Vive Developer Edition will be distributed in the coming months while consumers can expect the virtual reality headset by the end of the year.
