Google Visits LG in South Korea, Possible LG-Made Nexus on the Way?

We’ve already had a couple of Nexus devices from LG, which were the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5. Both were great devices from LG and Google. We’ve heard talk lately that Google and LG were back working together on another upcoming Nexus. As most of you know, or should know, the Nexus 6 was built by Motorola, leaving LG out in the cold this time around. We’ve been hearing that LG and Huawei are both working on Nexus devices for this year. We’ve also heard that we may get another Nexus very soon, like between now and Google I/O. Which hasn’t happened for quite a while. Seeing as the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 5, and Nexus 6 were all released in the fall. If Google does release a Nexus before Google I/O or at the annual developers conference, I’d bet it’ll be to get a 64-bit Nexus smartphone out there. As the Nexus 6 is not a 64-bit smartphone, since it’s running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset.

There’s a report today coming out of South Korea that Google has been in Seoul, South Korea visiting LG’s headquarters as well as their affiliates. Which would make you think that LG and Google are working on something special. Seeing as Google wouldn’t be in South Korea for the upcoming LG G4. The affiliates that were visited by these Google engineers include LG Display and LG Innotek. According to the source, E Today, it appears that industry insiders are dead set on this meaning there is an LG-made Nexus coming in the near future.

However, Google is now doing more than just Nexus. This could be for Android One, or for an Android TV unit. LG is even a part of the Open Automotive Alliance, so this could have something to do with Android Auto. However, I think the industry insiders are right, or at least close. It looks like a new Nexus smartphone or tablet might be coming from LG in the near future. They did an amazing job with the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5, so let’s see what the South Korean technology giant has up their sleeve this time around.
