You may or may not have heard of Silent Circle, and if you haven’t, it’s not because it’s some secret sect hiding out in the shadows deciding all the major changes and events of a generation. Silent Circle is actually the second half of a partnership behind the security focused Blackphone, working together with Geeksphone who actually manufactures the hardware. Silent Circle is the business end of things. Today Silent Circle has announced that they have reached an agreement with Geeksphone to buy out the joint venture in SGP technologies which results in them getting a 100% stake in SGP Technologies, and they will gain complete control of the Blackphone product set.

Part of this will help to streamline the Blackphone production processes for Silent Circle and Blackphone as well as allow for operations to happen more efficiently. In addition to the announcement about Silent Circle taking ownership of Blackphone, they’re also announcing that they’re working towards creating the world’s first enterprise privacy ecosystem, which will be coupled with new devices that support this system and are aimed at the enterprise market. Silent Circle is planning to unveil the ecosystem, products, and services at Mobile World Congress 2015 which is just next week.

The new enterprise privacy ecosystem will also include new software and services that come along with it, so we’ll be seeing a full on set of new offerings coming from Silent Circle at the event. Privacy is fast becoming more and more of a concern in today’s mobile world and Silent Circle will continue to work towards offering a much more secure and private device and services set that focuses on the individuals personal data and information staying safe and keeping the user in control of their data. In addition to new products and services, and gaining full ownership of SGP, Silent Circle has also obtained $50 million in private, common equity funding to help speed up their growth. It won’t be long before we see what new technologies and services Silent Circle has to show us at the upcoming event, perhaps we’ll see a Blackphone 2? or a Blacktablet? Our interests are certainly piqued.
