This morning, Samsung is sending out invites for a new Unpacked event to take place in Barcelona on March 1st. That is the same day as HTC’s big event as well. That is also the day before Mobile World Congress officially opens which is March 2nd. So, the Galaxy S6 and the new HTC One are going to be announced on a Sunday this year. Additionally, it’ll be early in the morning for most of us here in the US, seeing as Barcelona is 6 hours ahead of the east coast and about 9 hours ahead of the west coast.
We’ve seen, well heard more rumors than seen leaks. But we really don’t know much about the new Galaxy S6 just yet. Which is pretty common lately with Samsung, as we’re seeing them keeping more things under wraps until their event. Which is pretty cool, we all love surprises. And there’s some pretty big expectations for the Galaxy S6 this year, after the Galaxy S5 last year and the fact that Samsung is starting from scratch with this one.
The invite does put some emphasis on the curved model that we’re expecting to see at MWC next month. But could this mean that we might just get one device, and not two? Or has the Galaxy S line turned into a mid-ranger? With the Galaxy Note doing so well, and it’s obvious that Samsung does more with the Galaxy Note line than the Galaxy S line, it could totally be true.
Either way, we’ll be seeing the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S Edge at this press event in Barcelona. Which I will be at. So as always, you’ll want to stay tuned to Android Headlines for all of the details here. How many of you are excited for the Galaxy S6 event in Barcelona on March 1st.
