Samsung has basically confirmed that their Galaxy S6 flagship will launch on March 1st as part of MWC (Mobile World Congress) in Barcelona. The company has announced that they’ll hold an updated event at said date and has teased a curved smartphone on it. We’ve seen tons of leaks and rumors thus far and anything is possible, the company might opt to launch only one device, or perhaps two of them, one of which will sport a curved display (the rumored Galaxy S Edge handset), something similar to what they did with the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Note Edge back in September at IFA. On The other hand, we might see only one device launched, which will be completely different than what we’re used to seeing from Samsung.
We have some new information about this handset to share with you though, according to SamMobile’s insider, the Galaxy S6 will be available in four colors: Dark Blue, Blue-Green, Gold and White. It is also mentioned that the Dark Blue color will be similar to the one the Galaxy A5, while the Gold and White colors we’ve already seen on Samsung’s handsets before. Green color is new though, I don’t recall a Samsung device which sported that color option, this sounds interesting actually. The launch event is less than a month away, and it seems like Samsung is planning to surprise us this time around.
According to previous leaks and rumors, the Galaxy S6 is expected to feature a 5.2-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) Super AMOLED display along with 3 or 4GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage. Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core processor is expected to power on this beast along with Mali-T760 MP6 GPU for graphics. 20-megapixel camera has been mentioned as the device’s main shooter, and a 5-megapixel camera is expected to be located on the front side of this device. The 4G LTE connectivity is a given here, this thing will allegedly support Cat.10 connectivity speeds. Fingerprint scanner will probably make a return on this device, hopefully an improved one, and the aforementioned Galaxy S Edge handset might sport curves on both sides of the display. These are just spec rumors, nothing has been confirmed as of yet. Stay tuned, we’ll surely get more info to share with you in the coming days / weeks.
