So we had kinda figured this, but now it looks like it’s a bit more legit. But the HTC Hima that is supposedly going to be announced at MWC in a few weeks, will be marketed as the HTC One M9. Which we figured that as we had the M8 last year and M7 the year before. So makes sense, right? We really don’t know a whole lot about the HTC One M9 just yet, as we’ve seen a ton of pictures of different prototypes, which HTC says were decoys. Which I’m kinda happy about. I like going to a press event and being surprised by the announcement. I’m not sure about everyone else.
The HTC One M9 is expected to have almost the same size display, although it might be bumped up to 5.2 inches. The recent render from Evleaks shows us that the black bar is also gone, and the speakers are a bit smaller, but probably just as powerful. As far as the resolution, we don’t have any clue yet, but for some reason I’m thinking HTC is going to stick with the 1080p panel. Additionally, we’ve heard that HTC is going with the 20.7MP Sony sensor for the back of the phone. Which is the same sensor the Droid Turbo, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and a few other phones use. And They take amazing pictures, so I’m definitely excited about that. We’ll likely see it with the Snapdragon 810 inside as well, paired with 3GB of RAM.
We will be at HTC’s event in Barcelona on March 1st to get all the details on the HTC One M9 as well as the larger smartphone they are looking to announce. There’s going to be plenty of goodies coming out of Barcelona for Mobile World Congress, so make sure you keep it locked to Android Headlines.
