Many of the newer cars to come out in the last few years have Bluetooth, and even 4G LTE support. But what if your car doesn’t have Bluetooth capabilities? You feel like you’re in the dark ages, right? I know how you feel. My 2009 Chevy Aveo doesn’t have Bluetooth. But it does have a 3.5mm headphone jack, so I can easily plug in my phone and stream Google Play Music. But this has gotten even easier, and cooler, thanks to Cool Stream’s Car Chat+. To use the Cool Stream Car Chat+, all you need is a cigarette lighter port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, and that’s it.
Looking at the Cool Stream Car Chat+, you have the car charger, which has two USB ports so you can still charge your smartphone and another device at the same time. Cool Stream also has buttons on there for volume and answering calls. Yes you can answer calls and use your stereo for those calls. Maybe not the most exciting thing in the world, but still pretty unique. The other part plugs into your stereo via 3.5mm headphone jack. Now that is plugged in. Just go into the Bluetooth settings on your phone and find the Cool Stream Car Chat+ and connect to it. Once you connect to it for the first time, your phone will automatically connect to it every time you get in the car and turn it on. Just as Bluetooth normally does.
It’s really easy to set up, and using it is a breeze. Just get in the car, and find some music to play. Since it’ll connect automatically, there’s no need to hunt down and manually connect to it every time you get in the car. I’ve been using it for a few days now in all the travel I’ve been doing and it’s been working flawlessly. Obviously the audio would be better over a 3.5mm cable instead of Bluetooth, but it’s not bad at all. No lagging or buffering. Which is great. The fact that it comes with two USB ports is also a big thing, as it does use up a port in your car, but does still give you two USB ports to charge devices and other things.
