Bannerman Is The Uber Of Bodyguards

Very few of us actually need a bodyguard. In fact, more often than not, personal protection is more for dignitaries and heads of state than the rest of us, since we can just call the police. But, if you happen to be able to afford it, and you happen to actually need a little personal protection or just somebody to watch the door at your swanky event, Bannerman wants to be the app that schedules your bodyguards.

I Will Carry Your Banner

The service itself is simple if you’ve ever used a calendar app. You schedule a date, time and place, a number of guards, and pay $35 an hour for the bodyguards. They’ve passed background checks, obviously, and have also had military service. The one thing they won’t come with is guns; Bannerman’s guards don’t come with weapons.

That said, though… if you need guys with guns at your event, maybe consider just having a quiet dinner at home?

Bannerman’s key use appears to be less about having personal protection and more about ensuring there’s somebody at the door keeping out undesirables like Larry from accounting. And, truthfully, at $35 an hour, some last minute security hiring isn’t the worst idea. Still, we suspect that for most of us, a stern word and some thoughtful planning will be a better idea.
