Three new Xperia model numbers revealed (E2353, E5333 and E6533)

We now know three new model numbers that Sony is expected to launch later this year. The model numbers were revealed on the Indonesian Postel Regulatory site, which has been an accurate source of upcoming handsets in the past.

The revelations include one flagship model (Sony E6533), which has a good chance of being the Xperia Z4. Last year’s Xperia Z2 had model number D65XX, whilst the Xperia Z3 model number was D66XX. The move from ‘D’ to ‘E’ relates to the change from 2014 to 2015 handsets.

A mid-range model number has also been revealed (Sony E5333). The closest 2014 model number to this one is the Xperia T2 Ultra (D53XX), although there’s no certainty another phablet is on the cards this time round.

Lastly, there is the lower end model (Sony E2353), which could be an upgrade over the Xperia M2 (D23XX). The only other model numbers that have been revealed so far are for the Sony E2105/E2115.
