Cricket Upgrades their Base Plan to 2.5GB of Data, Offers Moto G (2013) for $25

Today, Cricket announced some changes to their base plan, which is currently $40. Instead of getting just 1GB of data, you’ll be getting 2.5GB of data. Which is a pretty nice increase over what Cricket used to offer. That comes out to $35 if you do auto-pay, which is an amazing deal, since you get unlimited talk and text along with that.

Cricket is also increasing their Smart Plan from 3GB to 5GB, which will cost you $50. The Pro Plan is staying at 10GB of data though. However, Cricket has announced a new plan for a limited Time. It’s called the “Advanced Plan”. It’s going to cost you $60 (or $55 if you sign up for Auto Pay) and you get 20GB of data each month. That’s right, 20GB of data for $60 vs 10GB on the Pro Plan for the same price. I don’t know about you, but I’d go and grab that Advanced Plan while it’s still around. That’s nuts.

The AT&T MVNO will also be providing many more discounted handsets to choose from:

“Many premium quality 4G and LTE smartphones are on SALE. Including, the Nokia Lumia 635 – free after mail-in rebate Cricket Visa ® Promotion Card – a 4G LTE enabled phone with a fast and smooth user experience. Its 4.5” clear black display allows for ease of viewing, even in bright sunlight. With a selection of thousands of apps available at the Windows app store, Nokia Lumia 635 users have something to smile about”

Which includes getting the Moto G (2013) for just $25. That right there is a steal. Sure it’s a year old, but there’s not much difference between the 2013 and 2014 models.

Much like T-Mobile, Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile and others, Cricket does slow down your speeds when you hit your cap. So make sure you keep that in mind. But overall these are some great plans. And being that they are a GSM carrier, you’ll be able to bring any unlocked phone over to Cricket – just about. Including the Nexus 6, Moto X Pure Edition and many others.
