It’s Friday, and that means the weekend is nearly upon us, it also means we have another top homescreen pick for you all. I always try to pick out the best homescreen designs each week from the list of top creations on mycolorscreen, and although I feel I usually pick some pretty good ones that the majority of people will enjoy, it’s been a while since I’ve found one that is so slick, that I have wanted to throw my own homescreen setup to the wind and jump ship. This is what’s happening with this week’s pick, called MnmL Line by David Pitoko. Pitoko usually puts out some great looking stuff, but this is off the charts, and it feels like it can appeal to a wide base of users.
As always, you’ll need some apps downloaded if you want to re-create this design for your own phone, but remember that you don’t have to use the same wallpaper, you can choose whatever backdrop you feel fits the design best for your own phone. With that, let’s get started on what you need. First off you”ll have to download a third party home launcher, Nova Prime or Apex Pro will both work fine. You’ll also need to grab Media Utilities to power the media controls that are part of the widget, which brings us to the last app you’ll need installed, Zooper Widget Pro to apply the widget files.
Once you have all of those downloaded and installed, you’ll also need to download the widget files themselves, which you can grab from the link provided by David Pitoko. I have linked to his page on mycolorscreen for this design so you can access those. As far as settings go, you’ll need your homescreen grid set to 6 x 6, and you’ll want to make sure and hide everything on the homescreen, so that means hide the status bar and hide the dock. This setup only requires one homescreen, and one widget. That’s it. Once you have the wallpaper set up that you like best, simply longpress on the homescreen, select Zooper widget of any size, than apply the widget file that you downloaded from Pitoko and resize it to fit the grid, and you’re done.
