An unidentified entry-level smartphone has been spotted on Samsung’s official website in the form of a User Agent profile. Going by the name of SM-J100H, the handset doesn’t pack much by way of specifications, but it does feature a barometer sensor, which is something that’s usually reserved for higher end devices — leading us to believe that this may be some type of speciality device.

According to both GFX Benchmark results and the User Agent profile, the SM-J100H is expected to sport a 4.8-inch WVGA display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, a 1.2GHz Cortex-A53 quad-core processor (packed inside a Marvell chipset), 1GB of RAM, a Vivante GC7000UL GPU, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter and 8GB of internal storage.

Out of the box, the handset is set to run the latest build of Android 4.4.4 KitKat, skinned with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface, which the South Korean company claims is “the easier way to use your device or tablet, giving you intuitive handling of everyday tasks.”

We believe that the SM-J100H will have a variety of different connectivity options on board, including support for 3G carrier bands, GSM, WCDMA, Bluetooth Class 1 (Version 4.0, LE+EDR), 802.11b/802.11g/802.11n Wi-Fi, and GPS. Samsung also tends to launch dual SIM models too, especially for countries like China and India, so other variants are expected.

This new budget smartphone from Samsung is expected to be unveiled in the not too distant future — so be sure to check back for more information.
