Samsung has been all over the news lately, company’s financial results have been under the spotlight lately, but they are also battling Nvidia in court and are getting ready to announce a bunch of devices in the coming weeks / months according to leaks. We’ve seen a ton of Samsung-branded smartphones leak lately, but not many tablets, well, today’s leak is about to take care of that “problem”.

Samsung’s upcoming SM-T116 tablet has appeared on two listings, it popped up on Zauba’s (Indian import and export site) import log and on GFXBench listing. According to the available information, this is a 7-inch tablet which will be powered by Spreadtrum’s sc8830 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. This tablet will also ship with 1GB of RAM and will come with Android 4.4.4 KitKat pre-installed with Samsung’s UI on top of it, of course. Judging by the specs, this could actually be Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Tab 4 Lite, though we’re just guessing, of course.

According to the Zauba listing, the import price of this tablet is Rs. 6,313, which is about $99. This pricing also points towards Galaxy Tab 3 Lite’s successor. Considering that this device appeared at Zauba’s listing, it shouldn’t be too long before we see it launched, especially if you consider the fact that the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite was launched in January 2014. That tablet came with Marvell’s SoC on the inside, while it seems that this one will ship with Spreadtrum’s chip, which is interesting. Either way you look at it, this will be yet another extremely affordable tablet on the market, though there are a lot of solid, affordable options available out there already.

Samsung did say that they’ll significantly cut back on the amount of devices they release, but we’ve been seeing a lot of Samsung listing lately, only leaks though, but still. Anyhow, do you think that Samsung should significantly trim down their smartphone and tablet portfolio, or do you think they’re on the right path as far as that goes, but they have to change something else? Let us know what you think on social networks, as always.
