Google has really taken their Android marketing up a notch since Lollipop was made official in October. We’ve seen them take over the biggest billboard in Times Square in New York, as well as some other places in NYC. And we’ve also seen a few commercials for Lollipop with the tagline “Be Together, not the same”. Which I think is a perfect tagline for Android. As we have so many different devices available, and they all run Android. So it doesn’t matter if you have a Nexus 6, Galaxy Note 4, Meizu MX4 Pro, or something else. It’s all Android.
Now Google has released a new ad for the holiday season, and it’s Androidified. So of course it looks pretty awesome. But it basically has Santa Clause dropping in a smartwatch – what looks like a Moto 360 based on the round display and super small bezels – as well as a smartphone which is a little tough to tell what it is, but we’re guessing it’s supposed to be a Samsung phone since it has a big physical button on the front. And there’s also a tablet, that he ends up stuffing into the stocking, because it’s so big. It’s a really cool Holiday ad that is only about 30 seconds long. So it’s short, sweet and to the point. The way all ads should be, am I right?
I really like how Google has stepped up their marketing with the launch of Lollipop this year. It’s nice to see these ads all over the place. Maybe now more people will realize that they are using an Android smartphone and not just a Samsung or a HTC smartphone. How many of you are liking the advertising that Google has been putting into Android in the past couple of months? Be sure to let us know in the comments down below.
