News: Nexus devices now in the Play Store, new Chromecast coming, Samsung launches Chromebook 2 with Intel chip

Nexus-Family

We have a flurry of Google products coming to the market, including new Nexus devices, a new Samsung Chromebook 2 and even a refreshed Chromecast.

Nexus 6, 9 and Player reach the Google Play Store

The new Nexus line-up is ready to take on the world as it reaches the Google Play Store only 2 days after being announced. The Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player are all on board, as well as their accessories. Not everything is available just yet, though.

The Nexus 9 and Nexus Player are available for pre-order, while the Nexus 6 continues to show the “coming soon” sign. Even the Gamepad for the Nexus Player is there! Go get them, guys!

Opinion: There you have it, guys. It didn’t take long for these to hit the Google Play Store after the Nexus 9 became available from other retailers.

2nd generation Chromecast in the works

It has been a while since the Chromecast was released. In fact, it has been over a year, which translates to centuries in the tech industry. It’s time for an update, and some FCC filings are proving a 2nd generation device is in the works.

There is no mention of any major changes, which makes us believe all upgrades may be internal. Unless Google is being especially good with keeping this secret.

Opinion: The Chromecast probably doesn’t need a hardware update in order to gain new features. Google Cast is simple and to the point. A performance improvement is very welcomed, though.

Samsung launches Intel-powered Chromebook 2

Samsung’s Chromebook 2 was unveiled earlier this year as a great option, but some users may not be completely satisfied with their prices. This is why Samsung has decided to launch a new Chromebook 2, one that caters to all Intel lovers out there.

This new Chromebook 2 comes with a 2.58 GHz Intel Celeron N2840 Bay Trail processors. Other specs include 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage and an 11.6-inch 1366x768p display. All for $249! Pre-orders will start today, but the device should be widely available next week.

Opinion: This is not exactly the most powerful Chromebook. It is actually less capable than the Chromebook 2s running Exynos processors, but this one is also priced affordably. Will you bite?
