Indians will soon see the Nexus 9 launch, Flickr reaches the iPad and Xiaomi is releasing another unique device. Keep reading for all the details.
Nexus 9 shows up in Indian Google Play Store
Fellow Indian geeks have something to celebrate today. The brand new Nexus 9 tablet has just shown up at the country’s Google Play store. It has been spotted with a “Coming soon” label and an Rs. 44,900 price point (equivalent to about $731 USD).
It’s definitely pricier than here, but such is the case with high-end devices in India, usually. Nevertheless, it’s a great tablet. We don’t have any solid release date information, but we can assume Indians won’t have to wait much longer for the launch.
Opinion: Thinking about getting a new tablet? Don’t forget to check out our Nexus 9 announcement post to learn all the details. I have to say it is looking like quite the winner.
Flickr app finally optimized for iPad
Tired of using the smartphone version of the Flickr app on your iPad? It’s a bit annoying to simply use a blown up version of the iPhone Flickr app. Your prayers have been answered – a tablet-optimized version is now available.
You can simply go get the new app from the Apple App Store, but do keep in mind this is not compatible with all iOS versions. You will need iOS 8 or higher.
Opinion: Yahoo’s photo sharing service is one of the most popular ones, and photographers across the world use it to display their work. It really doesn’t make sense to have an inferior experience in a tablet that could be used as a great showcase tool.
Xiaomi Mi Box Pro launched
Xiaomi is no stranger to experimentation, and today they have expanded their portfolio with a new device. The Xiaomi Mi Box Pro is a smart TV box that runs on Android and even supports 4K video.
Specs include a 2 GHz quad-core processor, 1 GB of RAM (2 GB RAM option available), 4 GB of internal storage and more. All for the price of 299 Yuan or 399 Yuan for the 2 GB version. That equals to about $49 and $65, accordingly.
Opinion: Not many of us have 4K displays, but it’s nice to see some manufacturers future-proofing their devices while these definitions continue to become more popular. That’s not a bad price, either!
