nexus
Today is Nexus day. At least that’s what we believe to be happening today. We’ve seen numerous leaks and reports that Google is announcing the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 today, but through a press release and not have a huge event – although I’d love for them to have a nice big event to announce this stuff. This morning we got a leak of the prices for the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 from a German retailer. The Nexus 6 32GB is sitting at 549, and the Nexus 6 64GB is sitting at 649. What’s interesting here is that there is no mention of the 16GB version. So it appears that Google has decided to drop the 16GB model and just stick with the 32GB and 64GB models. Which is a great idea. Especially with 4K coming, and it’ll likely be able to shoot 4k as well.
What’s even more interesting here is that we’ve got a 16GB and 32GB model for the Nexus 9. You’d think with the Nexus 6 only being 32GB and 64GB that the Nexus 9 would do the same thing. Especially since more people want more room on their tablet for storing movies and games and such. I know I’d definitely like a larger tablet.
If all goes as planned, we should find out later today exactly just what’s going on with capacities and storage configurations on the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9. Hopefully it’s not that much more expensive than the Nexus 5. Which it might be since it’s a bigger display and a QHD display at that. We’ll have to just wait and see. I think I’m more excited for the Android L release and launch today than for new Nexus hardware. How about the rest of you? Any of you still looking to pick up the Nexus 6?
