Apple is now more comfortable breaking away from its traditional sizes. The iPad Mini and new iPhones are proof that varying sizes and form-factors can only be beneficial in a market full of complex preferences. The rumored iPhone 6 seems to be the most adventurous Apple device to date, though.
The new iPhone is said to come in two different screen sizes: 4.6 inches and 5.5 inches. Needless to say these will be gargantuan devices compared to past iterations. Not only that, but they will also seem huge even for fans of the larger Android devices.
The latest iPhone 6 leak offers images of some Foxconn internal slides. All the information is pretty standard and goes parallel with previous leaks. The 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch display sizes do show up in the screenshots, but what is more interesting is that we are getting full dimensions of Apple’s upcoming smartphones.
With this information in hand, our partners at Mobile Geeks Germany have put together full set of comparison images that showcase both iPhone versions right next to what will be their greatest competitors (as well as their predecessor).
It’s interesting to see Apple’s devices, popular for their compact size, looking over some of the largest smartphones in the industry. The 4.7-inch iPhone 6 is about the same size as the HTC One M7, for example.
Want to see a surprising view, though? How about seeing the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 beating the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 by quite a bit. This is a sight I never thought I would witness.
We will find out more details about the upcoming iPhones as soon as September 9, when we expect to hear more from Apple. For now, let’s just enjoy these comparisons and start wondering how the iOS experience will feel on such large devices.
