Boost Mobile Announces the ZTE Warp Sync for $179

ZTE makes another splash into the US with the ZTE Warp Sync. This is a cheap, prepaid smartphone for Boost Mobile. It’s full retail price is $179, so don’t expect all kinds of amazing specs. But for that price it does feature some nice specs. Let’s check those out. The ZTE Warp Sync features a 5-inch HD (likely 720p) Gorilla Glass display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, 8MP camera on the back, 1.6MP front-facing camera, along with a 2300mAh battery that is removable. There’s also Android 4.4.2 KitKat on board. It also features Bluetooth 4.0 LE, and Dolby Digital Plus Audio, which isn’t as great as Boomsound from HTC, but still pretty amazing.

Boost Mobile has plans as low as $40, and go to $50 and $60 per month. All of their plans feature unlimited talk and text. However, the $40 plan has unlimited data with 500MB of high-speed data, the $50 plan bumps you to 2.5GB of high-speed data and the $60 plan bumps you to 5GB of high-speed data. Now remember, Boost Mobile does run on Sprint’s network and does use Sprint Spark if you’re in one of those areas, so if you don’t have great coverage from Sprint, then you may want to look elsewhere. But if you do have good coverage from Sprint, then Boost Mobile is a great carrier to take a look at. They have all kinds of great smartphones available.

It’s nice to see ZTE bringing more and more smartphones into the US, even if they are on Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile. It’s still a US presence which they hadn’t really had before hand. Hopefully we see some more ZTE stuff make it into the US later this year and next year. Especially more of their high-end smartphones. Are any of you interested in the ZTE Warp Sync?
